Josephine Au, Ph.D. is a Psychologist at McLean Hospital and an Instructor in Psychology at the Department of Psychiatry of Harvard Medical School. She is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in working with families and adolescents/young adults who struggle with difficult and intense emotions, relationship difficulties, as well as suicidal and non-suicidal self-injury. She provides individual therapy, family therapy, and parent skills coaching that are primarily informed by dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and mentalization-based treatment (MBT). She works collaboratively with her clients to reach shared goals and reviews progress with them routinely to ensure the effectiveness of their work.
